Course Marshal (Section 3) High Priority

Details

Important Note: Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age for this task. Volunteers who are under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Section 3 Course Marshals will tentatively meet at 6:30am at KenGar Palisades Park in Kensington for instructions. Marshals will then transport themselves to assigned locations along the course. Note that not all course marshal positions are located on the race course - some are on adjacent streets to control traffic near the course. Major intersections will also be supported by police who will rely on volunteers to assist them. Marshals for this section will be on duty until approximately 11:00am.

Location

Section 3 Course Marshals will be located between Aspen Hill Park and the race finish on Beach Drive south of Grosvenor Metro.

Water Stop #1 Medium Priority

You must be 11 or older to volunteer for this task.

Needwood Road and Beach Drive (immediately after yellow park gate, on left, north side of Beach Drive). Participants will come from Needwood Road.

Water Stop #4 Medium Priority

You must be 11 or older to volunteer for this task.

Location

Aspen Hill Park: 5013 Baltic Avenue, Rockville, MD 20852
After participants exit the wooded paved trail, the water stop will be on the open grass area (NOT sidewalk) starting at the water fountain and green Randolph Road sign -- all are adjacent to the circular parking lot, then ending the water stop just beyond the wooden bulletin board.

Equipment Unloading Medium Priority

Details

Help unload equipment from trucks from the race to store in the Clubhouse. Can be done even if you are racing!

Medical Bike Spotters

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

A medical bike spotter will carry a fanny pack with light medical supplies. Wound care and pain killers mostly. They will attend to runners with minor medical problems and report back to the Team Captain, if there is anything beyond their control. Each medical Biker has a short segment on the course that they will circle back and forth. The Medical Biker should be CPR and First Aid certified. Volunteer will bring their own bikes and helmets, MCRRC will provide fanny packs and medical vest.
